India has struggled to finish games since the retirement of MS Dhoni, one of the most accomplished match-winners in recent history. The role of Dhoni in shaping up the future of Indian Cricket cannot be questioned and all the Indian fans have rued his abrupt retirement. However, the latest game between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings again raised hope amongst several fans of a much-fancied return.
MS Dhoni Displays his old Self Against Mumbai Indians:
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings faced each other in the 33rd game of the ongoing Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indians had a nightmarish start and lost both their openers for ducks. Sincere efforts from the emerging Tilak Verma and debutant Hrithik Shokeen along with ever dependent Suryakumar Yadav led the side to a total of 155 runs.
Chasing a target of 156, Chennai had the worst possible start losing their star opener Ruturaj Gaikwad on the first ball of their innings. Experienced campaigners Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu led Chennai’s comeback. Though, a few quick middle-order scalps left Chennai struggling at 102/5 when MS Dhoni walked on the crease. ‘Thala’ looked comfortable from the first ball and led the efforts along with South African all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius.
With 17 runs required off the last over, Dhoni gave a glimpse of his finishing prowess in the last over, hitting the winning four on the last ball of the over.
Fans Want the former Indian captain back for the World Cup
Twitter caught fire as soon as the game got over with cries of bringing Dhoni back for the World Cup. Former Indian pacer RP Singh was one of the voices that warranted a return from the former Chennai Super Kings captain. RP Singh took to Twitter to request Dhoni for a return.
