Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is known for taking younger players under his wing and backing them. Recently, after the Indian crowd at the Uptonsteel Cricket Ground for the ongoing tour game between India and Leicestershire heckled Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kohli defended the young pacer.
Kohli was very angry with the fans who were pestering Kamlesh for a photo.
Virat Kohli comes to Kamlesh Nagarkoti’s defence

The incident happened on the second day of the ongoing four-day practice game between India and Leicestershire at Grace Road. The game is Team India’s last practice before the significant one-off Test match against England at Edgbaston beginning on July 1.
Few spectators gave Kamlesh Nagarkoti a hard time on Day 2 of the warm-up game between Indians and Leicestershire because they kept pestering him for a picture. Nagarkoti is one of India’s net bowlers for the tour but is not in the team for the lone Test match against England.

Kohli, who was seated on the dressing room balcony, jumped to Nagarkoti’s defence when he saw him arguing with the fans. After a confrontation between the former Indian captain and some spectators, one of the fans argued his case and said he only wanted a picture with Nagarkoti.

“Kabse bula rha hoon, photo he nahi khicha raha. Mai meri job choddh ke yaha aaya hu. Kam se kam photo to khichwana chahie. Nagarkoti ko bula raha hoon (Translation: “I’ve been continuously asking for a photo. I came here after taking the day off from my office. So, I’ve been calling Nagarkoti to click a photo with me at least)” the fan said.
The pacer is on the field to play the game, not take pictures, said a visibly angry Kohli in response to the fan.
“Match khelne aaya hai ya photo khichwane aaya hai (Is he here to play the match or click photos),” Kohli said.
After Day 2, Team India had an 82-run lead over Leicestershire going into Day 3. KS Bharat’s unbeaten knock of 70 was pivotal for India. India initially declared a total of 246 for eight.
