Virat Kohli, the star player of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has acknowledged his current passion for cricket and expressed optimism in returning to his peak form during the IPL 2023 season.
After a challenging IPL 2022 season and a disappointing performance with the bat during the England tour, doubts were raised about Kohli’s position in the Indian team. Consequently, he had to step back and take some time off to evaluate where he was making mistakes.
Virat Kohli on his IPL goals

Virat Kohli shared his RCB objectives in a video that was uploaded by the team on their Twitter account.
“I am just back to playing the way I do. There’s still a lot of room to get to my best which hopefully happens in the IPL if I am able to get to the level I want to play at and help the team and it will be exciting,” Kohli said.
Kohli has achieved centuries in various formats for the Indian team since September of the previous year and credits his mental rejuvenation to his break.
“It was about rediscovering my love for the game and I could do that only after I could step away from what was happening on the field for so long. I was absolutely exhausted and I needed to connect to myself as a human first and not judge myself constantly and keep myself under scrutiny all the time,” he added.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have enjoyed an exceptional home crowd during their IPL seasons, and thus, their return to their home ground after an extended period of four years is a significant event that Virat Kohli is eagerly anticipating.
“It’s one of the few things in the recent years that I am really excited about. It is special because I know how much the fans want to see us in the stadium and the Chinnaswamy will be lit up again, the crowd will be buzzing and so will the players and it will be special with a special announcement. It will definitely be a day to remember,” he said.
It remains intriguing to know what kind of “special announcement” Virat Kohli has in store, and how it might affect RCB’s upcoming season and potentially its future. The Bangalore team is set to commence their IPL 2023 journey against the Mumbai Indians on April 2.
