Suresh Raina’s father Trilokchand Raina died on February 6th. Trilokchand Raina had been battling cancer for several months. Since December of last year, his health had been deteriorating even more. He died at his home in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, after losing his battle with cancer.
Suresh Raina has been visiting his father for the past month, having retired from international cricket on India’s Independence Day in 2020. Raina’s father, a military officer, was born in Rainawari, Jammu and Kashmir, and moved to Uttar Pradesh in the 1990s. Trilokchand worked as a bomb maker in an ordinance factory.

Trilokchand Raina passed away at his Ghaziabad residence. Trilokchand moved to Muradnagar in the 1990s after leaving his village. Suresh experienced financial difficulties as a child due to his father’s monthly salary of INR 10,000. As a result, he couldn’t afford his son’s expensive cricket coaching.
Harbhajan Singh, one of Raina’s teammates, expressed his condolences on social media. Harbhajan paid his condolences on Twitter saying, “Very sad to hear Suresh Raina’s father @ImRaina RIP uncle.”
Trilokchand is survived by his four children: Dinesh and Suresha – his two sons, and two daughters.

Suresh Raina, who hasn’t played competitive cricket since the IPL 2021, is preparing for the mega auction that will take place in the IPL 2022. The Southpaw has listed at INR 2 crore, and a couple of franchises may be interested in him because he is a left-handed option. He has 205 games under his belt as a senior campaigner.
Raina didn’t have a particularly productive season, and he eventually lost his spot in the starting XI to Robin Uthappa. He was also not retained by the franchise ahead of the mega auction in 2022. Regardless, the 35-year-old will be a part of the bidding process, with multiple franchises expected to be interested. Not to mention, Raina has produced some spectacular performances in the IPL, earning him the title of ‘Mr. IPL.’
