Mumbai Indians, the five-time winners, ended last in the IPL 2022 Points Table with only four wins from 14 games, including one over Delhi Capitals in their final encounter on Saturday (May 21). MI fans were further disappointed when Arjun Tendulkar, the son of superstar Sachin Tendulkar, was left out of the starting XI.
Sara Tendulkar, Arjun’s younger sister, attended the final MI match against DC at the Wankhede Stadium over the weekend, hopeful that her younger brother would finally make his long-awaited IPL debut. Sara, on the other hand, was disappointed.

Arjun, who was a member of the MI squad last year, did not play a single game in 2021, and after being purchased by MI for INR 30 lakh in 2022, he warmed the bench again. Many anticipated the club management to give the youth an opportunity, which they did in the past few games, but Arjun’s name wasn’t on the team sheet.
MI were eliminated from the competition very early. When their destiny was set, one of the greatest debate points among MI fans was whether junior Tendulkar would make his IPL debut or if the franchise would continue to bench him.
MI made a few changes in the last game as well, but Arjun did not make his IPL debut on Saturday. Instead, the left-arm pacer was seen on the boundary assisting the players with messages from the coaches, water, and bat changes.
During the match, Arjun’s sister, Sara Tendulkar, recorded him and put it on social media on her Instagram story, along with a song from the renowned Bollywood film, ‘Gully Boy’ – Apna Time Aayega (Our time will come).

Kumar Kartikeya and Hrithik Shokeen made their IPL debuts in the 15th season of the league for MI near the end of the tournament.
With the team chopping and changing the starting lineup, MI fans thought that all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar would finally get his IPL debut.
