The Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of just two teams in the tournament without an English cricketer. The Mumbai Indians are the 2nd team. They had a great start to the season this year, winning their first four games in a row. They won five of their first seven games, including a one-run victory over the Delhi Capitals. When the season starts in the UAE, they will want to keep the momentum going.
Wanidu Hasaranga, a Sri Lankan all-rounder, has been inducted as a substitute for Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). For personal reasons, Adam Zampa dropped out of the first half of the IPL 2021 without playing a single game. On the other side, Wanindu Hasaranga has been in outstanding form for the island country. Thanks to his leg-spin, with 10 wickets from 5 games, he was the leading wicket-taker in the India-Sri Lanka series.
A few more replacements were also revealed by RCB. Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn of New Zealand and Kane Richardson and Daniel Sams of Australia will be unavailable for the season. Sams will be replaced by Sri Lankan bowler Dushmantha Chameera, while Allen will be replaced by Singaporean cricketer Tim David.
Dushmantha Chameera, a right-arm fast bowler, will bolster RCB’s new-ball reserves. He has a total of 97 wickets from 73 international appearances for Sri Lanka. Tim David is a well-known BBL talent who will help RCB improve their overall abilities. He has appeared in 11 internationals, scoring 429 runs at 157.72 and taking 5 wickets.
RCB Lineup with the new additions
Virat Kohli, the RCB captain, will continue to start the batting with Devdutt Padikkal. In the first half of the season, he hit 198 home runs in seven games. This featured a 72 against Rajasthan Royals, which came in the same game as Padikkal’s first IPL century.
From where he left off in the IPL 2020 season, Padikkal went on his merry way. Since his initial run in the IPL, he has matured into a more experienced player.
Glenn Maxwell was outstanding in the IPL 2021 auctions. He has given much-needed momentum to the RCB innings in the middle-overs, scoring 223 runs in the first seven games.
AB De Villiers
AB De Villiers, a former South African captain, will start at number four. He has consistently been the top number four in the IPL throughout the years. He has been a consistent scorer for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Kyle Jamieson got nine wickets in seven games while scoring 59 runs. For Royal Challengers Bangalore, he will be a crucial player.
Sundar will bat at number seven and will share the ball with Yuzvendra Chahal as the second sinning option. He took three wickets in six games for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
For RCB, Siraj is the first-choice pacer in the lineup. Because of his time at RCB, he has matured as a bowler.
Patel is currently the highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2021. In just seven games for the team, he has taken 17 wickets, including a five-wicket haul against the Mumbai Indians.
Wanindu Hasaranga has been turning heads in recent times, and he definitely made an impact with the ball when India traveled to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series in July, taking three wickets in the second ODI and seven wickets in the three T20Is to top the bowling statistics.
One of Virat Kohli’s most trusted players to get him wickets will be RCB’s leading wicket-taker. Last season in the UAE, he got 21 wickets and would like to repeat that feat.
Navdeep Saini’s presence guarantees that the bowling attack has a solid speed and a variety of spin options.
