Early Life and Career

Riyan Parag was born on November 10, 2001 in Guwahati, Assam, India.
Parag Das, Riyan Parag’s father, is a former Indian cricketer. At the domestic level, he represented Assam and Railways. Riyan’s father also serves as a coach or mentor to him, as he has a lot of expertise in cricket.
His mother, Mithoo Barooah Das, is also from a sporting family. She holds a National Record in swimming.
He began playing cricket at a young age because he comes from a sporting family. Riyan was only 12 years old when he was chosen for the U-16 team. Riyan stated that he had weight concerns at the start of his career, so he followed a Ketogenic Diet for about a year and a half, significantly reducing his weight.
Riyan Parag, then 12, was named to the Assam U-16 squad in 2013. At the age of 13, he advanced from the U-16 to the U-19 team. He enjoyed a breakout season in 2016-17, and he was then named to the U-19 team that toured England for two unofficial tests. Having proven his worth in shorter formats, he demonstrated this time that his abilities are equally suited to the red ball game.

He became the youngest player in IPL history to score fifty runs. He was only 17 years and 175 days old at the time. He broke the record set by Sanju Samson, who did it at the age of 18 years and 169 days.
Rajasthan released him before the mega auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League. In the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League, he was re-purchased by the Rajasthan Royals in February 2022.
