Chennai Super Kings has been one of the league’s most consistent teams throughout its history. They rely on their core strengths, and the faith they place in their players has served as a model for other teams. They decided to keep Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni, and Ravindra Jadeja this time.
This was a smart move because they added two new players to their core lineup while keeping Dhoni as the main man. His mere presence is enough to cause the team to transition. Furthermore, Jadeja’s retention is self-evident, as he is currently one of the best all-rounders in the world.
- Robin Uthappa and Ruturaj Gaikwad – Openers

Last year, Ruturaj Gaikwad had a fantastic season. He finished the tournament with the most runs. He scored 635 runs in 16 matches at an average of 45.36 and a strike rate of nearly 140. With Faf du Plessis, Gaikwad formed a successful opening pair. The latter, on the other hand, will play for RCB next season. Chennai Super Kings will try to get Robin Uthappa to open the innings. For the majority of IPL 2021, Robin Uthappa warmed the bench. However, when given the opportunity, he demonstrated his abilities. In IPL 2022, he’ll most likely open the innings with Gaikwad.
- Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu – Middle Order

Last season, Moeen Ali played at number three and did an excellent job. This year, the franchise would like to see him have a similar impact. The experienced duo of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu will be at five and six, respectively. Both will be crucial to the team’s success. Both, however, are past their prime. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to fulfill their roles.
- Ravindra Jadeja, Dwaine Pretorius, Dwayne Bravo – All Rounders

Ravindra Jadeja will be a key player for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022. In the last two years, he has vastly improved his batting. Jadeja could provide the finishing touches and be promoted to the top of the lineup. Dwayne Bravo will play an important role in the bowling attack. Dwaine Pretorius could do the same for them while Deepak Chahar is likely to miss a large portion of the IPL 2022 season.
- KM Asif and Adam Milne – Bowlers

In the final game, KM Asif had only one match to play. Deepak Chahar, on the other hand, may have a lot more opportunities this time around because he won’t be there for the majority of the tournament. In addition, the franchise has managed to secure the services of New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne, who could be included in the playing XI for the tournament’s first match.
