Irfan Pathan has made a special request to captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid as the Indian team prepares for the test series against Sri Lanka.
Irfan Pathan, the former Indian bowler, believes that Avesh Khan should have the support of captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid and that Mohammed Siraj was able to succeed because he had the trust of former captain Virat Kohli.

Pathan described Avesh Khan as talented but added that a player can have a few bad days and that is when the skipper needs to be the most supportive. He also credited former captain Virat Kohli with assisting Siraj’s development by providing him with the necessary support at various times.
“Backing is very important for every player because when you play in international cricket, you have more bad days than good days,” Irfan Pathan said.
“When you have those bad days, it is important that your captain and the team management backs you. When we talk about Mohammed Siraj, Virat Kohli backed him a lot. I would go to the extent of saying that Kohli should be credited for the confidence with which Siraj bowls in international cricket. So yes, players need that backing. And I believe Avesh Khan should receive the same backing as Siraj because he has that talent,” Pathan added.

Avesh made his international debut against the West Indies in a T20I earlier this month, and he followed up with a strong performance against Sri Lanka, where he bowled 2/23 in four overs.
In the T20Is, players like Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, and Avesh Khan, as well as senior pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar, were given opportunities.
India rested almost all of their senior bowlers for the final T20I of the series against Sri Lanka, with Siraj and Avesh leading the pace attack alongside Harshal, and young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi replacing Yuzvendra Chahal.
