KL Rahul led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have done exceptionally well in their maiden season and are presently third in the IPL points table 2022.
With the bat, Rahul has been outstanding, leading the IPL team from the front. His friendship with former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who is a team mentor, has paid off handsomely.
Piyush Chawla on KL Rahul

KL Rahul is having a fantastic season as a captain and batsman in the ongoing IPL 2022. The Lucknow Super Giants may have lost to the Rajasthan Royals in their last game, but with eight victories from 13 games and 16 points, they are well on their way to making the playoffs.
In the meantime, former India spinner Piyush Chawla has praised Rahul, saying that the Karnataka cricketer is learning a lot from LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir. Rahul, according to Chawla, is using Gambhir’s aggressive leadership techniques, which he did with the Kolkata Knight Riders from 2011 to 2017, when he led them to two titles.
“The way he’s leading the side is thrilling to watch. He is leading the Super Giants brilliantly. It’s good to see him going for the kill. He’s placing slip fielders in the 11th-12th overs and looking to finish the game early. This is something which he’s learning well from mentor Gautam Gambhir who was like this during his stint as IPL captain”, said Piyush Chawla said.

It’s worth noting that KL Rahul is leading the IPL for the third time. In the 2020 and 2021 editions, he was the captain of Punjab Kings. According to reports, the India limited-overs specialist was in Punjab’s plans for the current season as well, but Rahul wanted to move for greater opportunities, which they granted.
The 30-year-old has 469 runs from 13 matches, an average of 42.64 and a strike rate of 135.55, with two centuries and as many half-centuries. He may have failed in the previous game, but he will be anxious to make amends in the next game.
