The Mumbai Indians scouting team has uncovered yet another diamond in the rough: Kumar Kartikeya, whose addition to the lineup helped them overcome the in-form Rajasthan Royals on Saturday evening and earn their first victory of the season after eight consecutive losses.
In his debut IPL match, the 24-year-old displayed a plethora of variations. He bowled the regular leg break, the wrong’un, and the finger-spin carrom ball along with a few seam-up deliveries, completing with fantastic figures of 1/19 in his four-over spell, which included the wicket of RR captain Sanju Samson, thereby assisting MI in restricting RR to 158, which they chased with 5 wickets in hand.
Remember that Kumar Kartikeya was recruited in as a replacement for the injured Mohd Arshad Khan only a week ago. He had previously been a net bowler for MI, and after impressing the management, he was brought in as a substitute and given a game immediately.
Since his 2018 debut, slow left-arm bowler Kumar Kartikeya has represented Madhya Pradesh in all three forms. Kumar Kartikeya has performed admirably in the nets. His efforts to refine and improve his bowling skills have earned him a promotion to the main team.
Early Career
In 2018, Kumar Kartikeya, who plays domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh, made his debut. Since then, he has participated in nine First-class matches, 19 List A games, and eight T20s, taking 35, 18, and nine wickets, respectively.
Kumar Kartikeya Salary:
IPL announced Thursday in a press release that the left-arm spinner will represent the Mumbai Indians for Rs 20 lakh. Because this is his first session and he was brought in as a substitute, his net worth is estimated to be less than 1 crore rupees.
Kumar Kartikeya recently disclosed that he has not visited his house in nine years! The 24-year-old declared that he would not return home until he achieved success in his cricketing career. Now that he has performed on the IPL stage and pleased everyone, he can return to his parents with a sense of accomplishment.
