Wicketkeepers have played an important role for teams in the IPL over the years. Not only in the IPL, but also in international cricket, MS Dhoni has redefined the role of the keeper-batsman. Before him, wicketkeepers such as Adam Gilchrist and Kumar Sangakkara were instrumental in redefining the position of wicketkeeper in international cricket.
A slew of wicketkeepers will go under the hammer at the IPL 2022 auction table. Apart from CSK, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals, nearly every other franchise will be looking for wicketkeepers. The fact that they can bat adds another dimension to their game to consider.
- KS Bharat
KS Bharat of Andhra Pradesh is an uncapped wicketkeeper who could hit the jackpot after his performance with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2021, which included a last-ball six to complete a successful run chase. Bharat, with a base price of INR 20 lakh and a strong domestic season, is also in the auction.

- Dinesh Karthik
For a couple of seasons, Dinesh Karthik was the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders. He only led the team to the playoffs once and then struggled as a captain and batsman. Midway through the IPL 2020 season, Karthik handed over the captaincy to Eoin Morgan. He was released by KKR ahead of the IPL auction in 2022. This time around, the veteran could join a new team and it’ll be exciting to see Karthik in action.

- Dinesh Bana
Dinesh Bana is one of the heroes of the U-19 World Cup. Bana contributed to India’s joy by hitting a six off James Sales to seal the U-19 World Cup victory. Bana, who came in to bat after the 6th wicket fell, remained unbeaten on 13 off 5 balls despite the pressure. His cameo included two consecutive sixes. Bana is a talented player and many teams will be interested in him.

- Wriddhiman Saha
Saha, an Indian wicketkeeper, is one of the best behind the stumps and can also bat, either as an opener or to help speed up the scoring in the middle and late innings. When he is fit, as an Indian player, he will undoubtedly make the 11 of a team in need of a wicketkeeper. As a result, he may receive high bids during the auction. He has scored 2110 runs and claimed 88 dismissals in his career.

- Anuj Rawat
Anuj Rawat, a southpaw from Delhi, has played in the IPL before, for the Rajasthan Royals, but only on rare occasions. Rawat, on the other hand, could land another IPL contract after a strong domestic season with the Delhi team.
