Ramiz Raja, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has been frequently in the news lately, and he recently discussed his relationship with former PM Imran Khan. According to numerous reports, Imran was a major factor in Raja’s appointment as the head of Pakistan cricket’s governing body.
Raja claimed that due to political changes, he has lost contact with former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and that in order to advance the sport, he wants to develop a relationship with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Ramiz Raja on Imran Khan

Earlier this year, Imran’s tenure as the PM of Pakistan came to an end. The politician who had previously played cricket was removed from office on April 10, 2022, following a vote of no-confidence in the Pakistani Parliament. Raja’s position was also in question in the days following Pakistan’s political climate change, but he was able to keep his job and is still in charge of Pakistan cricket.
“Imran Bhai cut off contact with me. I haven’t talked to him for a long time now. We can’t live around speculations. I believe there is a need for continuity apart from political differences. See, our prime minister is our patron-in-chief, we have requested his time and if he meets us, we will tell him about our work. I think there is no need for ego here as, in the end, we all want upliftment of cricket.” Raja said.
If there is anything in the constitution about the removal of PCB chairman every time, go ahead with it. Otherwise, fulfilling individual desires won’t work in favor of the game. The ball is in the court of him [PM Shahbaz],” he added.
Ramiz Raja had previously disclosed that he had received two invitations to the Indian Premier League (IPL) from Sourav Ganguly, the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), but had declined them out of fear of backlash from the fans.
