England has recently demonstrated to the world how Test cricket should be played, and their most recent example was their historic 74-run triumph over Pakistan in the opening test on Monday, December 5 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
David Lloyd, a former English cricketer, has urged the Indian side to imitate the Three Lions’ strategy when playing red-ball cricket. At the same time, he made it plain that India can only accomplish this if Virat Kohli leads them from the front. Additionally, Lloyd compared the Ben Stokes-led team to the dominant West Indies squads of the 1970s and 1980s and the 1990s Australian squad.

Notably, since Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes took over, they have seen a turnaround in their fortunes in the longest format, winning seven of the team’s first eight matches.
“It is not totally new, of course. The Australian team of the 90s were very positive and the great West Indian sides were full of exhilarating stroke-makers. I reckon a team capable of this style now is India. They have all the tools. There has been a suspicion that Indian batters are stats driven but Virat Kohli is one who could drive this,” he said.

Additionally, England has been playing a bold style of cricket known as the “Bazball” in Test matches. Even in red-ball cricket, they have been playing according to their T20I strategy, as was demonstrated throughout the home series against New Zealand and India as well as the recently finished Rawalpindi Test, which was played on a flat track.
