Right now, both Gurbaz and Babar are participating in the Lanka Premier League. Babar is a part of the Colombo Stars, and Gurbaz is on the Jaffna Kings team. Gurbaz shared that it’s not only him but his entire family, including his younger brother who plays cricket, that admires the Pakistani captain. Gurbaz also mentioned that his younger brother has requested a T-shirt signed by Babar Azam.

“Yes my brother always talks about Babar Azam with me and he asked that please take one T-shirt from Babar for me and I said ok, so he loves Babar. My brother plays good cricket, so yeah his favourite player is Babar. Babar is the favorite player for the younger stars, especially for me,” Gurbaz said.
Gurbaz, who is recognized for his powerful hitting while batting, mentioned that Babar is a batting legend, and he really enjoys Babar’s batting style.
“I like his batting and the way he bats, I can see he’s a legend right now,” he added.
Not long ago, the coach of Colombo Stars shared that Babar made the decision to not be the captain for LPL 2023 and instead focus only on his role as a batsman. This choice has clearly shown its effect in his impressive batting displays during the tournament.
Scoring 235 runs in just five innings, Babar has once again secured his leading position on the list of top run-scorers. His exceptional displays have enabled him to claim the first position, surpassing notable players such as Tim Seifert. Babar is also the lone player to achieve a century in this season’s league.
