Danish Kaneria, a former cricketer for Pakistan, has accused the BCCI and Selection Committee of favoring Rishabh Pant over Sanju Samson when it came to opportunities in the white-ball team.
He claimed that they treat Samson in the same way as they treated Ambati Rayudu.
Danish Kaneria on Sanju Samson

There are several comparisons being attempted to determine which wicketkeeper-batter is superior between Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson. Pant’s legacy in tests has been set, but he is yet to replicate it in ODIs and T20Is. In actuality, Pant has 1842 runs in 95 white-ball games, including eight 50-run knocks and a century. Samson, on the other hand, has played fewer games than Pant – 27 in total – in which he has scored 626 runs, but his average in one-day internationals is substantially higher: 66 to Rishabh’s 35.
Meanwhile, Danish Kaneria recently talked about the Rishabh Pant vs Sanju Samson debate on his YouTube channel.
“Ambati Rayudu’s career ended similarly. He scored a lot of runs, but he also faced zyadti (excessiveness). The reason is BCCI and the selection committee’s internal politics. Is there liking or disliking among players?” he said.
Rayudu was dropped ahead of the 2019 World Cup after scoring only 33 runs in three innings against Australia. After returning to ODIs, he scored 639 runs at an average of 42.6. Rayudu, on the other hand, has been a regular in the IPL since 2010.
Kaneria, meanwhile, praised Sanju Samson for consistently stepping up and delivering in difficult circumstances despite being in and out of the starting XI. He believes that the right-handed batsman plays some spectacular shots that are enjoyable to watch.

However, Kaneria cautioned that if India doesn’t utilize him during his prime, they risk losing a good player.
“How much can a player tolerate? He already tolerates a lot and scores wherever he gets the opportunity. We might lose a good player because he faces the torture of selection and non-selection in the team. Everyone wants to see his strokes in extra-cover, cover, and especially pull shots,” he added.
