Former Indian player Wasim Jaffer believes Shikhar Dhawan will regain his form in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.
Dhawan did not get enough game time this year, according to Jaffer, because he only plays ODIs.

For the ODI series against Bangladesh, which begins on December 4, India has named a 17-man squad. After taking a break for the New Zealand tour, the senior trio of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli have rejoined the international scene. In addition, the team’s selectors have included some intriguing uncapped players like Kuldeep Sen, Rajat Patidar, and Rahul Tripathi.
Shikhar Dhawan, according to Wasim Jaffer, will return to his form against Bangladesh.
“If Dhawan plays enough matches, he will return to his old rhythm. Shikhar Dhawan has not been able to play many matches because he only plays ODI cricket. India has played numerous T20s this year because of T20 World Cup,” he said.
The statement was made even though Dhawan was dismissed in the final two ODI innings against New Zealand with scores of 28 and 3. He did, however, smash 72 off 77 balls in the first game against the Blackcaps. In his previous three innings against South Africa, the southpaw only managed to score 25 runs.

Along with praising the partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, Jaffer also praised the top three batters, including Virat Kohli, for consistently stepping up for the Men in Blue in ODIs.
“His partnership with Rohit Sharma has always been good. India’s top three are one of the best. One of them always stepped up when India scored 300+. There is enough experience,” he added.
