Dewald Brevis was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on April 29, 2003. Jack Brevis is his father’s name, and Yolanda Brevis is his mother’s name. Reinard Brevis, his older brother, is a musician.
Brevis finished his education at Pretoria’s Afrikaanse Hoer Seunskool (Affies). In addition to his education, he learned the fundamentals of cricket at his school.

He used to play the game with his older brother and father in his backyard for enjoyment. When his older brother was unavailable, his mother assisted him in playing cricket. He was later chosen for his school’s cricket squad.
