On April 6, 2022, in Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Mumbai Indians (MI) provided debut to their young South African star Dewald Brevis when they faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 14th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2022).
Dewald Brevis has impressed everyone by scoring the most runs in the ICC U19 World Cup 2022 in the West Indies. In the IPL 2022 mega auction, he was purchased for INR 3 crores by the Rohit Sharma-led team.
Dewald Brevis Hits A No-Look Six Off Varun Chakravarthy

Brevis, who has been dubbed ‘Baby AB’ because of his batting style, which is similar to that of AB de Villiers, hit 29 off 19 balls with two fours and as many sixes.
He’ll be disappointed not to convert a promising start, but the 18-year-old showed flashes of De Villiers during his brief stint in the middle, and his six off Varun Chakravarthy startled everyone.

There was every reason to suppose that the former South African legend was batting. Chakravarthy was brought into the attack in the eighth over, and Dewald Brevis attacked him from the first delivery.
Brevis put the ball into the stands without glancing at the distance it traveled since the spinner drifted the ball on the leg-side.
It was a no-look six from the young South African batsman, who was displaying his talent in the middle. Despite the fact that Brevis’ score didn’t go beyond 29, his performance demonstrated his enormous talent.

Pat Cummins, meanwhile, has returned to KKR after completing a three-day obligatory quarantine. He led Australia to a historic Test series victory in Pakistan before returning home to attend Shane Warne’s burial ceremony. He wasn’t allowed until April 5 because he is a contracted player for Australia, but he was eligible for the key game versus MI.
Suryakumar Yadav, who had recovered from an injury sustained during India’s last series, also made his first appearance in IPL 2022.
