The BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly, stated that India head coach Rahul Dravid and the team management are likely to play a settled unit from the England T20Is with the players they believe will go on to play in the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
With regulars Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja either resting or nursing injuries, the Indian T20 team has been experimenting a lot.
From the England tour, Rahul Dravid will pick the ones likely to pick in T20 World Cup: Sourav Ganguly

In the ongoing five-match T20I series against South Africa, Rishabh Pant is leading India, while Hardik Pandya has been named captain for the two-match series in Ireland later this month.
Despite the fact that the T20 World Cup is only a few months away, Ganguly stated that the World Cup hopefuls will be selected from the England series.
“Rahul Dravid (Team India head coach) is looking into it. He has been planning to play a settled set of players at some stage. Probably from the England tour next month, we will start playing with players who are likely to play in the T20 World Cup in October,” Ganguly said.

So far, India’s young players have performed admirably in the South Africa series. They came back from a 2-0 deficit to win back-to-back matches to force a decider.

Ishan Kishan, Dinesh Karthik, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Avesh Khan have all made compelling arguments for a place in India’s T20 World Cup squad. Captain Rishabh Pant and batter Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, have underperformed and will be under a lot of pressure to maintain their positions.
India will play three T20Is in England, with captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja likely to return.
