CSK is playing its second game of the season against the new entrants in the league, Lucknow Supergiants. The CSK fans are ecstatic to see their “Thala”, aka MS Dhoni, back in the yellow jersey and take the field. The love and adoration that MSD receives from Chennai can never be matched by any player in any other franchise.
A few days before the IPL commenced, MS Dhoni, dropped the bomb that he won’t be leading the franchise and handed the baton to Ravindra Jadeja. Ever since there is a sense of feeling that he is playing with much more freedom and in a relaxed manner. In the first game as well, he was the highest scorer for CSK with an unbeaten 50. In the death overs, he came into his own and went into beast mode.
MSD back with his Midas touch
In the current game, CSK batter first. CSK got off to a good start with Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube playing impressive knocks. After CSK lost Dube’s wicket in the 18th over, out came Dhoni to bat. In the first ball that he faced from Avesh Khan, he sent the ball into the stratosphere. The strike was as clean as a whistle and it felt as if the clock had been wound back to bring back MSD of prime. The hand-eye coordination was as good as it has ever been.
The strike on the first ball was a statement from MS Dhoni that he still has it him to be the best finisher and can give any youngster a run for their money.
