The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the second qualifier on Friday, ending their hopes of winning their first Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. With a win, RCB would have qualified for their first final since 2016. The Bengaluru-based team was no match for RR, who won by seven wickets.
Following RCB’s elimination from the tournament, Virat Kohli, the team’s former captain, posted a touching message on social media. Kohli thanked the RCB management and the fans on Twitter. He also included photos from his IPL 2022 campaign with a message.
“Sometimes you win, and sometimes you don’t, but the 12th Man Army, you have been fantastic, always backing us throughout our campaign. You make cricket special. The learning never stops. (1/2),” Kohli tweeted.
“A big thanks to the management, support staff and all the people who are part of this amazing franchise. See you next season @RCBTweets #PlayBold (2/2).”

Kohli had a terrible season with RCB in the IPL 2022. In 16 games, the 33-year-old managed only 341 runs, including two half-centuries. Many former players advised the right-hander to take a break from cricket because of his struggles.
Kohli did show signs of form with a 54-ball 73, and his stroke-playing was impressive. However, he was unable to build on that performance and failed to impress in RCB’s final two crucial games.
