According to recent reports, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has signed uncapped Afghanistan leg-spinner Izharulhaq Naveed as a net bowler for the Indian Premier League’s 2022 edition (IPL). Izharulhaq confirmed the news on Instagram by posting a photo of himself wearing the RCB shirt. Izharulhaq, 18, was a member of Afghanistan’s Under-19 World Cup squad earlier this year.
The leg-spinner had a strong showing in the tournament, taking four wickets in six games at a fantastic economy rate of 3.63. In the nets, he now has an opportunity to make an impression against famous RCB batters. Izharulhaq will benefit greatly from the opportunity to bowl against the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell.
Royal Challengers Bangalore sign Izharulhaq Naveed

Izharulhaq Naveed, an uncapped Afghanistan spinner, will join the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a net bowler for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. On Instagram, the leg-spinner confirmed the news by posting a selfie wearing the RCB shirt.

Izharulhaq could win an IPL contract in the coming years if he puts up a strong performance in the nets. Afghanistan has a reputation for creating high-quality spinners. While players like Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman have already made a name for themselves in the IPL, Izharulhaq wants to follow in the footsteps of his elder compatriots.
The most talked-about topic in the build-up to IPL 2022 was RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, who was finally announced as Virat Kohli’s successor. After nearly a decade with Chennai Super Kings, the former South Africa captain offers plenty of leadership experience and success in the IPL.
Faf has previously stated that it will be a collaborative effort and that Virat Kohli’s energy will be critical to their success. RCB have a strong core of players with leadership experience who will serve them well. Glenn Maxwell, as well as newcomers Dinesh Karthik and Virat Kohli, are likely to work closely with du Plessis.
