Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes Virat Kohli should take a break from cricket now that the IPL is over for Kohli before India travels to England for the final Test of their unfinished series.
Kohli scored 341 runs in 16 games with a strike rate of 115.99 and an average of 22.73 in the 2022 season.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 came to an end on Friday when they were defeated by the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Poor powerplay performances by RCB openers Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis have been one of the reasons for the team’s inconsistency with the bat on numerous occasions, and Friday was no exception.
Kohli, in particular, has had his worst IPL season with the bat since 2009. Kohli has averaged 22.73 in 16 games, scoring 341 runs on the strength of just two fifties and three first-ball ducks. While many people, including former India coach Ravi Shastri, have suggested Kohli take a break, former England captain Michael Vaughan has also joined the bandwagon.
Kohli should take a break from the game, according to Michael Vaughan.

“He is a legendary player who’s going through a tough phase. Two or three years ago, you could turn on the tv or show up at the stadium and know Virat was going to have to score a hundred. He was just going through those phases where he appears to be getting a hundred each time he batted. Isn’t it a career? You never go through your entire career and everything is so simple,” Vaughan said.
Kohli is too good a player to be going through a slump like that for too long, according to Vaughan, and he will return to his best if he returns fresh and rejuvenated after taking some time off.
“All he needs is a break. Go spend some time with your family, then fly to England and start hitting some balls again” Vaughan Added.
