Moeen Ali of England is the latest Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player to be injured during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. The 34-year-old allrounder injured his ankle during a practice session on Saturday and will most likely miss a few games.
He was left out of Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) playing XI for their match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 21, followed by a match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Monday.
Major Blow To CSK As All-rounder Moeen Ali Suffers An Ankle Injury

The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been dealt another setback with the injury of ace England batting all-rounder Moeen Ali.
Moeen Ali is the third Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player to be injured in the 15th edition of the competition, with the franchise already losing two crucial pacers this season.
CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja addressed the media after winning the toss against PBKS captain Mayank Agarwal at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday that the team will play with the same lineup as the previous game. Despite the fact that he did not mention the allrounder, it is expected that Moeen will require some time to recuperate from his injury.
Meanwhile, injuries have cost CSK their most expensive buy in the IPL 2022 mega auction, Deepak Chahar, as well as pacer Adam Milne. If Moeen does not recover in time, CSK may have to deal with yet another major setback in their current campaign.

Meanwhile, Ali last appeared for Chennai Super Kings on April 17 against Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans (GT) before being omitted from the starting XI in the match against Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI).
Due to visa complications, Moeen landed late in India and missed the season’s first match. The southpaw batter has only 87 runs at an average of 17.40 runs in five games this year. Even with the ball, the off-spinner has yet to take a wicket in his eight overs. With CSK essentially in a must-win situation right now, Moeen Ali could’ve played a significant role.
