Rashid Khan was incredible in IPL 2022 and his brilliant form continued with some scintillating performances for Gujarat Titans, the 2022 champions. In 16 matches, he claimed 19 wickets. It was the sixth time since he began playing in the IPL in 2017, that the Afghanistan leg-spinner had taken at least 17 wickets in a single season.
His 6.60 RPO economy was fantastic, putting pressure on the opposing batters. There was almost no one who could match Rashid’s skill level. The spinner has now identified the batter who he finds difficult to bowl at.
Rashid Khan on Shubman Gill

Rashid Khan had another outstanding IPL season, this time assisting Gujarat Titans (GT) in winning the tournament at their first attempt. He took the wicket of Devdutt Padikkal in the final against RR, conceding only 18 runs in four overs.
Apart from bowling, GT also used his batting skills this year, making some crucial and quick cameo appearances in crucial situations. In some matches, batting down the order, he assisted GT in crossing the finish line. Despite bowling in the IPL for so many years, the Afghanistan leggie has maintained such economical spells, and batsmen still struggle to read his deliveries.
Rashid Khan stated after defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in this year’s final that Shubman Gill is the player he believes will be difficult to bowl against. The young Indian batter was in fine form in the final, finishing with a score of 45* off 43 balls.
Gill finished the tournament with 483 runs at an average of 34.50. In the final, he combined with captain Hardik Pandya (34 runs) and then with David Miller (32* runs) to secure a seven-wicket victory over RR.

He heaped praise on Gill, saying that his contributions were crucial to GT’s success in their first year in the tournament.
“So proud to be here with him. With someone like him, it gives you lots of energy in the game. The way he played throughout the tournament was unbelievable so pleased to have him on our side. He’s the only one I was thinking will be hard for me to bowl too but luckily I have him on my side,” Rashid Khan said.
