Tim David, the all-rounder for Mumbai Indians (MI), has opened up about his experience playing with a new team in the Indian Premier League’s 15th edition (IPL 2022).
While Mumbai’s season was a disappointment, with the team finishing last in the IPL 2022 points table, David had a good year.

Five-time champions, the Mumbai Indians will want to forget about this season as soon as possible, as they had the worst finish in the IPL this year. MI finished the season in tenth place, having won only four of their fourteen games.
David is known for his six-hitting abilities, so when Mumbai paid INR 8.25 crore for him in the hopes of replacing Hardik Pandya, it raised some eyebrows. He batted down the order and scored 186 runs in eight innings, averaging 37.2 and a strike rate of 216.28.
MI skipper Rohit Sharma did not use his bowling skills at all during the tournament, despite his all-around abilities. His cameos in the second half of the tournament, on the other hand, were the talk of the town. His blistering 34-run knock-off 11 balls against Delhi Capitals in the final group stage match helped RCB qualify for the playoffs, knocking DC out.
When asked about the season as a whole, David stated that there were many difficult times that were extremely frustrating.

“We were not getting the results that we wanted straight away. Initially, when you come into an environment, you don’t know many people. Though further into the tournament, things got more comfortable with the group,” Tim David said.
He also talked about his improvements in batting abilities.
“I am looking to be more stable at the crease along with more controlled swings. It has helped me to become quite a bit stronger. Overall, it’s been a really good period of growth for me and also some experience on the field,” he added.
