The Indian team won the second test by 238 runs to wrap off the day-night match in Bengaluru on day three and win the two-test series 2-0 on Monday, extending their winning record at home to 15 test series.
With the tourists chasing a difficult target of 447 to win after India declared on 303-9, their skipper Dimuth Karunaratne fought valiantly to get his 14th test century (107) but wickets dropped regularly and they were bowled out for 208.
In Mohali, India won the first test by an innings and 222 runs in three days, and Rohit Sharma’s team repeated the same in Bengaluru, bowling Sri Lanka out in the second session.
