Madan Lal on KKR CEO’s involvement in team selection
Madan Lal, a former cricketer, took a go at Kolkata Knight Riders CEO Venky Mysore, questioning his role in squad selection in the Indian Premier League. During an open debate held by Indian Sports Fans, Madan Lal expressed his displeasure with KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer’s recent admission on his team’s CEO.
Shreyas Iyer recently stated that CEO Venky Mysore, along with coach Brendon McCullum, was involved in the team selection process and played a key influence. Many people were astonished when Iyer revealed the situation, and fans were as well.

“Coach and at times, CEO is also obviously involved in team selections. Each and every player takes it well, and they have put in their best efforts,” Iyer had said.
Madan Lal was enraged by the team’s decision-making process and called out the management for supporting it.
“I am personally shocked and dismayed by Iyer’s revelations. If that’s true then what are coaches and support staff doing? It is the job of coaches and captains to decide on the team and not the CEO. That’s the reason why the team is performing so badly on the field. Something is fundamentally wrong within the team,” Madan said.
KKR had a great start to their season this year, but things started to go apart after the first few games. Making a dramatic comeback after losing in the finals last season, the two-time winners appeared to be on a mission to win this season, winning three of their first four games.
