Kane Williamson is known to have his temper under control on the pitch. He takes his game seriously only while he is on the pitch but keeps wins and losses only on the pitch. Outside the field, he is the most jovial and friendly guy.
After the 2019 Cricket World Cup finals, when New Zealand narrowly lost the match to England, Williamson was seen beaming a smile and being sporty about it. Therefore, to see Williamson display his emotions outwardly on the pitch has come as a surprise to many of the fans.
Williamson expresses anguish on getting out
SRH lost the first game of the season and needed to consolidate to bring momentum. In today’s game they took on Lucknow Super Giants and LSG put up a score of 169 in 20 overs. SRH had to chase the total and had to be responsible.
Williamson opened the innings and got off to a slow start. He scored 16 runs off 15 balls. In the third over, he was facing Avesh Khan. The third ball off the over, Khan bowled outside off delivery. Williamson took the adventurous route and tried to hoick it over the head of the wicketkeeper. The timing on the shot was off and it landed straight in the hands-off Andrew Tye.
Williamson was visibly disappointed and gave an annoyed expression. The reaction left fans also in a tizzy as they had not seen this before. Some fans understood Williamson’s frustration while others expressed their surprise. Williamson’s expression gave away how much this wicket meant to him. He knew he had to carry the batting but could not achieve what he set out on.
