Following India’s victory over Sri Lanka in the second Test match at Bangalore, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif drew the wrath of fans with a remark on social media. To win the series 2-0, the Rohit Sharma-led team smashed Sri Lanka by 238 runs in three days.
Kaif congratulated Rohit and his men on their supremacy on Twitter. However, he made controversial comments about India being a “world-beating Test unit” under the leadership of Rahul Dravid, the 34-year-old new head coach.

Rohit Sharma’s remarkable run as India’s new captain continued with the hosts’ sweeping 2-0 Test series triumph against Sri Lanka. Under Rohit’s leadership, the Men in Blue have stayed unbeaten across all formats, including victories over New Zealand, the West Indies, and Sri Lanka at home.
India has developed as a world-beating Test side under the guidance of Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid, Kaif tweeted regarding the players in the Indian Test setup. Cricket fans were outraged by Kaif’s remark and slammed him on social media.

“KL, Rohit, Vihari, Kohli, Iyer, Pant, Jadeja, Ash, Bumrah, Shami and many No.11 options … Suddenly, it all looks fine. Under Rohit and Dravid, a world-beating Test unit is taking shape,” tweeted Mohammad Kaif.

Fans on Twitter saw the message as an insult to the former team management, which included Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri. They believe Kohli and Shastri both deserve recognition from Kaif for their accomplishments.
One fan joked that Kaif was dismissed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) only after Kohli took over as the side’s skipper, while another cynically claimed that the former India batter has come in with clear favoritism as the current Test squad took shape only under Kohli.
Another supporter declared emphatically that the world-beating team belongs to Virat Kohli, who led the team from No. 7 to No. 1 in the Test rankings. In the end, Kaif’s post has earned him the fury of his fans. Meanwhile, the Indian players will report to their respective IPL franchises on March 26 for the commencement of the new season.
