Jasprit Bumrah of the Mumbai Indians was on fire in IPL 2022 Match 56 against the Kolkata Knight Riders, picking five wickets.
In IPL 2022, this is Bumrah’s first five-for. And he celebrated by hitting the air and screaming it out, expressing his dissatisfaction with his performance in the previous ten matches.
Jasprit Bumrah completes five-wicket haul against KKR

Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batting line-up in a group stage encounter at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on Monday. In his four-over quota, the veteran Indian pacer grabbed his first five-wicket haul in the IPL, conceding only 10 runs.
Nitish Rana, skipper Shreyas Iyer, Andre Russell, wicket-keeper batsman Sheldon Jackson, Australian spinner Pat Cummins, and Sunil Narine were among the wickets taken by Bumrah. Bumrah was quite effective with his line and length, giving the KKR batsmen nothing.
Despite Bumrah’s outstanding bowling, the KKR batsmen managed to score 165/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Batter Rana, Ventakesh Iyer, and Rinku Singh all played vital innings for the two-time champs.

Apart from Bumrah, the other successful bowlers for MI were Daniel Sams, Murugan Ashwin, and spinner Kumar Kartikeya. The onus will be on the MI hitters to chase down the target and win the match.
It’s worth noting that the five-time winners are struggling in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The Men in Blue and Gold are in last place in the points table after losing eight of their 10 matches. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have struggled to score runs and to make matters worse, their top batter Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the competition.
The five-time winners, on the other hand, had won both of their previous group round matches against Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals. MI is essentially out of the competition, but they will still want to win their remaining matches because they are the most successful team in IPL history. The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, will face the five-time champions next.
Bumrah had only picked 5 wickets in 10 matches prior to the MI vs KKR encounter. Bumrahβs wife Sanjana Ganesan, who was in the audience, was as ecstatic as Bumrah.
