After the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured their spot for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 playoff stage on Wednesday, premier batsman KL Rahul was all praise for pacer Mohsin Khan. On matchday 66 of the cash-rich league, Mohsin’s LSG team defeated Shreyas Iyer’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy.
Rahul’s LSG became the second team to reach the business end of the league after their exciting triumph over KKR. Following the high-scoring match between Kolkata and Lucknow, Rahul praised LSG’s Evin Lewis for a magnificent one-handed catch of Rinku Singh in the final over. Lewis’ on-field ability was instrumental in Lucknow’s remarkable victory over Iyer’s Kolkata Knight Riders.
KL Rahul hints at Mohsin Khan’s possible India call-up
The Indian Premier League’s second half is approaching its conclusion. There were numerous instances that had fans on the edge of their seats. The Gujarat Titans were the first team to earn a spot in the playoffs. The Lucknow Super Giants are the second team to qualify for the playoffs. KKR, CSK, and MI, on the other hand, have already been eliminated.
The IPL has provided the players with an ideal platform to express themselves on the pitch. Some of the players took it extremely seriously and delivered. “Everyone has been brilliant, starting with Lewis, that catch was brilliant. He’s been struggling with tummy issues for the last few weeks, been in and out of the team. Never easy. Didn’t get to bat today. But that’s what you want to see from players, their desire to contribute in any way possible,” KL Rahul said.
“Mohsin has been outstanding for us in the last few games. He’s got the skills but the key thing has been his knowledge of when to use those skills. He’ll be donning the Blue jersey soon the way he is going,” Rahul added.
