In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, England’s opener Jos Buttler is in fantastic form for Rajasthan Royals. Former Pakistan cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed was praised by the right-handed batter with identifying his shortcomings and helping him in refining his game.
Buttler said in an interview with Ravichandran Ashwin that the former Pakistani leg-spinner assisted him with his batting.

In IPL 2022, Jos Buttler is in incredible form. This season, he has already scored three hundred, two of which came back-to-back against the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Capitals, respectively. Buttler has been superb in opening the innings for Rajasthan Royals, setting a solid foundation for the team.
As the Englishman continues to enjoy a dream run in the tournament, he has singled out former Pakistan cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed as the cause for his exceptional performance this year. Mushtaq, according to Jos, was the one who assisted him in transforming his flaws into strengths.
“Mushtaq Ahmed always told me to hit on the off-side first and then come around to the leg-side. If you are looking only on the leg-side, you will never hit the ball on the off-side,” Jos Buttler said.

The 2008 winners are presently in third place in the IPL 2022 points table, having won five of their seven matches and amassing 10 points at a net run rate of +0.432. At the same time, Jos Buttler is comfortably above the Orange Cap leaderboard. Buttler would match Virat Kohli’s record of four tonnes in a single edition of the event if he scores another century.
When RR meet the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next match on April 26 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, the explosive opener will be trying to break the three-figure mark for the third time in a row. The Royals will be hoping to avenge their loss to RCB in the reverse fixture.
