The fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League has started. The IPL 2022 season kicked off on March 26 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The event is one of the best in the world because of the high scores, massive sixes, suspenseful finishes, and entertaining bowling performances.
The IPL has seen various success stories of players who have made it big in the league over the years. The Orange Cap is given to the player who scores the most runs during the season, while the Purple Cap is given to the player who takes the most wickets. The players will be vying for the coveted honors once again this season.
David Warner

Warner has won the IPL Orange Cap three times, all while playing with the SunRisers Hyderabad (2015, 2017, and 2019). However, in the 2022 season, the experienced batter will play for the Delhi Capitals, and he will attempt to win the orange cap again.
Shikhar Dhawan

Over the previous few years, Shikhar Dhawan has been one of the Delhi Capitals’ most reliable players. In each of the last three Indian Premier League seasons, he has scored over 500 runs. Dhawan scored 587 runs at an average of 39.13 in 16 matches in the previous edition, including three half-centuries. The opener drew a decent bidding battle at the IPL auctions table thanks to his stellar performance over the years. The Punjab Kings signed him for Rs. 8.25 crores.
Shreyas Iyer

After being signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the mega auction, Shreyas Iyer will play in new colors this season. When Shreyas, who will also captain KKR this season, reaches the field, he will have a greater burden of duty. Shreyas will try to continue his international form in the IPL this season, with the T20 World Cup scheduled to take place later this year.
Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s excellent batting lighted up the Indian Premier League 2021 season. He received the Orange Cap for being the season’s highest run-scorer. In 16 games, the right-hander amassed 635 runs at a 45.35 average. Against Rajasthan Royals, he blasted his first IPL century.
KL Rahul

For the previous few seasons, KL Rahul has been a reliable run-scorer in the IPL. Ruturaj Gaikwad was nearly beaten by Rahul for the Orange Cap in 2021 after winning it with the Punjab Kings in 2020. It would be intriguing to see how Rahul does with the bat this season, as he will captain the Lucknow Super Giants.
