Former New Zealand player Brendon McCullum has named Rohit Sharma as the only batsman who he thinks can break Brian Lara’s record of 400 runs in a single innings in Tests. Lara holds the record for the highest individual score in a single Test innings. He slammed 400 not out against England in 2004 and the record has since remained intact.
Other players including David Warner and Brian Lara himself think that Rohit Sharma can break the record.
Brendon McCullum believes Rohit Sharma can break Brian Lara’s record

On Sunday, June 12, India will face South Africa in the 2nd T20I match. Furthermore, the match will be held at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, India. India enters this match on the back of the loss against South Africa in the 1st T20I.
The men in blue had a strong start to their T20 series against South Africa. They did, however, lose the first match due to their poor bowling performance. In their 2nd T20I against South Africa, India will be hoping for a strong showing.
Meanwhile, Brendon McCullum has now chosen Rohit Sharma to break Brain Lara’s record. He believes that only Rohit Sharma has the ability to break the record.

Brain Lara has previously said that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma can break his record.
“Attacking players are the ones who are best suited to break a record. Players like Virat Kohli with the way he scores, Rohit Sharma on his day or day and a half could definitely break the record,” Brain Lara said.
David Warner explained the constraints that come with attempting such a record, and he put his faith in Rohit Sharma to break it.
“Yeah, look, I think it’s about the person himself. We’ve got long boundaries, it is quite difficult at times. When fatigue sets in, it’s very hard to try hard and throw your hands at it. At the end, I tried to run twos to lift the ante because I couldn’t actually think like I could clear the ropes. I think, one day, if I’ve to name a player, I reckon it could be Rohit Sharma. Definitely,” David Warner said.
