In recent years, bowlers have begun to receive more recognition in international cricket. The ICC World Test Championship was a competition in which bowlers played a significant role. Pat Cummins, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Bout, and Tim Southee are among the top wicket-takers in the world and have helped their teams win.
Hasan Ali – 45
In October 2013, Hasan Ali made his first-class debut for Sialkot. In a One Day International (ODI) match in August 2016, he made his international debut for Pakistan. He was one of the thirty-three players given a central contract by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the 2018–19 season in August 2018. (PCB). Champions Trophy 2017 was his most successful event. Pakistan went on to win the tournament, with Ali earning Player of the Series honors for his 13 wickets. He is the fastest Pakistani bowler to reach 50 wickets in one-day internationals. Ali has been likened to his Indian rival Jasprit Bumrah due to his age and strong achievements. So far this year, he’s got 45 wickets.
Ravichandran Ashwin – 38
Ravi Ashwin is a well-known player who has proven himself in the past. He began his career as a limited-overs bowler before moving up to the Test team. His Test bowling has improved dramatically over the years, but his limited-overs bowling has deteriorated. Ravichandran Ashwin was one of the series’ unsung heroes in Australia. His batting, coupled with Hanuma Vihari’s, helped India pull off an unlikely draw in the Sydney Test. Although he didn’t have a 5-for to his record, Ashwin was still a superb batsman. His 12 wickets in three matches were vital in the series victory. This season, he has taken 38 wickets.
Mehidy Hasan – 37
Mehidy Hasan is a Bangladeshi cricketer who represents his country in Tests, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 matches. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler, and he is a bowling all-rounder. He bowled the highest match statistics by a Bangladesh bowler in a Test match against the West Indies in November 2018. He made his Test debut against the West Indies in February 2021, scoring his first century. In the same series, he became Bangladesh’s fastest bowler to reach 100 Test wickets in terms of matches, doing it in his 24th match.
Anrich Nortje – 36
Anrich Nortje is a professional cricketer from South Africa. In March of this year, he made his international debut for the South African cricket team. Nortje won the rookie of the year title at Cricket South Africa’s annual awards event in July 2020. Nortje earned his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket in the fourth Test against England in January 2020. Cricket South Africa gave him a national contract in March 2020, ahead of the 2020–21 season.
