Former captain Joe Root pulled a Trent Boult delivery with England skipper Ben Stokes on the non-striker’s end. Despite the fact that the ball appeared to be heading for the boundary, the Kiwi player fielded it brilliantly and returned it to the bowler’s end.
Root immediately sent Stokes back after he considered taking a run. While the star all-rounder returned to the crease on time, the throw hit his bat and was deflected for an overthrow, transporting everyone on the field and in the commentary box back to July 14, 2019.
Stokes desperately dived to complete a run in the final over of the 2019 World Cup final, with England needing nine runs to win by three wickets, and the throw deflected Stokes’ bat to the boundary. The ball was awarded to the hosts for a total of six runs because they had already scored two runs.
Finally, the match ended in a thrilling tie, with Eoin Morgan’s side winning the game in the super over because they had scored more boundaries during the game.
Stokes, on the other hand, did not benefit from the incident this time, nor did he try to sneak a single. Following the incident, Stokes and Kiwi pacer Trent Boult was seen laughing about it.

In terms of the match, England is chasing a massive total of 278 in the fourth innings, led by Stokes and Root. Since taking over as captain of England, he has scored his first half-century.
