Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has issued a warning to Team India ahead of the three-match One-Day International series against Bangladesh, which is set to begin in Dhaka.
Jaffer believes that the hosts’ attack, led by Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Nasum Ahmed, will pose a challenge to Team India.
Wasim Jaffer on India vs Bangladesh

For the ODI series against Bangladesh, which begins on December 4, India has named a 17-man squad. After taking a break for the New Zealand tour, the senior trio of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli have rejoined the international scene. In addition, the team’s selectors have included some intriguing uncapped players like Kuldeep Sen, Rajat Patidar, and Rahul Tripathi.
Back in 2015, when Bangladesh last hosted India for an ODI series, the Bangla Tigers stood strong and won the series 2-1. With a strong team, Rohit and company hope to prove themselves this time around.
Wasim Jaffer recently talked about the India vs Bangladesh series.
“In these conditions, Bangladesh are a dangerous team, but they will miss captain Tamim Iqbal. They will miss Taskin Ahmed in the bowling department because he has been bowling brilliantly in T20 World Cup. They have spin options Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Nasum Ahmed. It will be a potent attack. Shakib needs to have a good series if Bangladesh wants to do well,” Jaffer said.

After a lackluster showing during the recently concluded T20 World Cup, where he took six wickets and scored 34 runs in six games, the all-rounder will try to rebound.
Wasim Jaffer believes that if Rohit Sharma and company win the toss, they should choose to chase. He believes that the dew factor will make batting second easier.
“I think both teams would like to chase, there is no doubt. There might be a dew factor. Batting gets easier under lights,” Jaffer added.
