Amit Mishra, the veteran spinner, was left disappointed after going unsold in the mega auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League. Despite being a key member of the Delhi Capitals team, the former Indian spinner failed to find a buyer at this year’s auction.
Parth Jindal, the owner of the Delhi Capitals, posted an emotional message on Twitter after the mega auction ended, paying tribute to Amit Mishra. Parth Jindal praised Amit Mishra’s contribution to the Delhi franchise, describing him as “one of the greats of the IPL.”
Amit Mishra’s message for Parth Jindal

Amit Mishra took to Twitter to thank Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal for his kind words and acknowledgment of his contributions to the team, for which he felt truly humbled. At the same time, the Uttar Pradesh cricketer stated that he is not done yet and that he can easily add to the legacy of the 2020 finalists’ if the franchise requires his services, for which he is always available.
Thanks @ParthJindal11 for the kind words & your acknowledgment of my services for the team. I am truly humbled! But, I am not finished yet and can easily add to the legacy of @DelhiCapitals…only if DC needs me! I am always in their corner. #ibleedDC

The Delhi Capitals put on a strong performance at the auction, bringing in a number of notable players. Shardul Thakur was the most expensive signing for DC, with the club shelling out Rs 10.75 crore to bring the young Indian pacer to the club.

Amit Mishra is one of only a few cricketers to have played in over 150 IPL games since the tournament’s inception 15 years ago.

From 2008 to 2010, Mishra was a member of the Delhi Daredevils, formerly known as the Delhi Daredevils. In 2015, he returned to the franchise and continued to play for them until the 2021 season. With 166 scalps from 154 matches at an average of 23.97 and an economy of 7.35, Mishra was the second-most successful bowler in IPL history and is now in third place. He is only a few wickets behind Dwayne Bravo and Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka, who have 167 and 170 wickets respectively.
