The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) 16th edition is scheduled to commence on March 31 and conclude with the final league match on May 21. The first match will feature Gujarat Titans, the reigning champions, against Chennai Super Kings.
There are many talented players in the IPL who are often underappreciated. These players if given confidence can be pivotal for their respective teams.
1. Narayan Jagadeesan

Narayan Jagadeesan has previously represented the Chennai Super Kings as a wicketkeeper-batsman, but due to captain MS Dhoni’s preference for keeping, he did not receive an extended opportunity to play. However, during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he set a world record by scoring five consecutive centuries in List A cricket. In the upcoming IPL 2023, he will be playing for KKR and has the potential to be a valuable player for them.
2. Sikandar Raza

Zimbabwe has produced numerous all-rounders, but Sikandar Raza stands out among them. He has proved his mettle both in international cricket and T20 franchise leagues. Raza’s exceptional performances in the T20 World Cup 2022 were truly remarkable and he completely overshadowed the other players in the competition. Punjab Kings have recognized his potential and decided to sign him up for the IPL 2023 season, especially as he is currently in the best form of his career. The team acquired Raza for a sum of INR 50 lakhs.
3. Daniel Sams

Daniel Sams is a well-established player in the T20 format, having played 110 matches in this format. He has a remarkable strike rate of 153.22 and has scored 1045 runs. As a bowler, the 30-year-old has taken 126 wickets at an economy of 8.70. LSG has signed Sams for the IPL 2023 season, and he has the potential to be a crucial player for the team.
4. Glenn Phillips

Glenn Phillips is a very destructive player. During a match against the Sri Lankan cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2022, Phillips hit the second century of the tournament. He came into bat during a difficult phase of the match and managed to rescue his team with his excellent performance. Despite not playing any matches for SRH in the previous season, Phillips has been retained by the team and is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming season.
5. Aman Hakim Khan

Aman Hakim Khan is considered to be a promising talent who has the ability to hit sixes effortlessly and bowl at a decent pace. Although he has played only 14 T20 matches in his career, many IPL teams have been closely monitoring his progress. The upcoming edition of the IPL will provide him with a platform to showcase his skills.
