BCCI has put the IPL 2021 season on hold indefinitely. Each team has played seven matches, and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has established itself in third place with five great victories. Royal Challengers Bangalore were unhappy when their fantasy run came to an untimely end as Covid 19 cases increased in India. They appeared to be doing everything perfectly, but they were dealt a setback since IPL was postponed. The question is, will they be able to continue with the same vigor since times change, and so do the forms of players.
RCB was in a strong condition in IPL 2021 when the competition was interrupted, and they reached the playoffs in IPL 2020. There’s a good chance that two additional teams will join the league next year. As a result, the IPL 2022 Mega Auction is expected to take place. RCB’s batting has been overly reliant on skipper Virat Kohli and Ab De Villiers since 2013. Devdutt Padikkal and Glenn Maxwell are bolstering the batting order, but they still lack a batter at number three who can consistently produce runs for the squad. There are issues in the bowling department as well.
If you look at RCB’s current lineup, you’ll see that they have a solid foundation in place.
However, if a mega-auction occurs, they may be forced to release a few players. In the IPL 2022 auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore should look for some great players.
Ishan Kishan
Mumbai Indians may have to part ways with Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan if the retention restrictions stay the same as in previous years. Both of these players will thereafter be hot auction assets. At number four, Kishan has been a significant part of the Mumbai Indians’ batting line-up. He hadn’t played any of the first games of the IPL 2020, yet he was the leading run-scorer for the Mumbai Indians. He batted 516 times for a 57.33 average. He was even called to play for the Indian cricket team against England in a five-match T20 series. RCB is in severe need of a reliable Indian wicketkeeper. Ishan Kishan appears to be the best option right now. The Jharkhand cricketer will also contribute a lot to the batting department.
David Warner
Before the IPL 2022, it appears that Sunrisers Hyderabad would love to keep Rashid Khan and Kane Williamson. Sunrisers Hyderabad withdrew David Warner was stripped of his leadership and also was not selected in the team for the match against Rajasthan Royals. As a result, David Warner will most likely be available in the IPL Mega Auction in 2022. Warner, on the other hand, didn’t have the greatest of starts in the first leg. In the T20 competition, Jonny Bairstow was undoubtedly SRH’s best hitter. He was not only scoring runs, but he was also getting them quickly.
Riyan Parag
Riyan Parag, 19, is now a member of the Rajasthan Royals. At a base price of 20 lakhs, he was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League in December 2018. His hitting is still a work in progress, but he has the talent to demonstrate his mastery to the rest of the world. Riyan’s batting stance gives him the freedom to play a variety of strokes, particularly pull shots. One of his strongest assets is his ability to bat anywhere in the middle order. Riyan Parag may be a fantastic addition to the RCB squad. They may remedy their lower-order problem by acquiring him in the IPL mega auction in 2022. The fact that he is uncapped makes it simpler for RCB to acquire him at a reasonable price.
Moeen Ali
After being released by the RCB in February 2021, Ali was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL auction ahead of the IPL 2021 for almost £700,000. So far, he’s had some explosive innings at the top of the order, followed up with some cost-effective bowling periods. This year, he was quite essential to the franchise. If CSK does not keep Moeen, he can be deployed as a floater at RCB. The English all-rounder is a must-have for RCB.
Lockie Ferguson
In the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League, he was purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders in December 2018. Kolkata Knight Riders rely heavily on Pat Cummins to lead their bowling attack, which has caused Lockie Ferguson to be out from the present season. Ferguson performed really well against the Hyderabad batting lineup with some blazing pace on the day he made his tournament debut in 2020. He’s a solid fast bowler who comes in useful with his scary swing bowling and lethal toe-crushers.
