The stage has been set for the IPL 2022 mega auction, with the BCCI announcing the names of 590 players who will be auctioned off for a spot in the world’s biggest T20 league.
There are 228 capped players, 355 uncapped players, and 7 players from Associate Nations among the 590 players who have registered for the auction. Due to the fact that this is a mega auction, fans can expect teams to go all out to sign the player of their dreams, even if it means breaking all sorts of previous records.
Players who can break records at the IPL Mega Auctions
Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan is expected to be one of the most expensive Indian picks in the IPL 2022, as the left-hander checks many boxes for the team he joins. At the auction, wicketkeeper-batsmen, particularly those who can bat in the top order, are always in high demand. Ishan Kishan had offers from the two new franchises Lucknow and Ahmedabad after failing to make the Mumbai Indians’ retention list, but he turned them both down and decided to participate in the auction.
David Warner

David Warner, the Australian opener, led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to the IPL title in 2016 and has finished as the league’s top run-scorer three times. Warner and SRH had one of the most beautiful IPL relationships for a long time, and he was a rare example of an overseas skipper working to perfection. But it all came crashing down in the 2021 season when he was stripped of his captaincy and then dropped from the starting lineup. Warner has a chance to make a lot of money at the upcoming mega auction.
Shreyas Iyer

Due to an injury, Shreyas Iyer was unable to participate in the first leg of the IPL last year. He returned for the second phase but did not reclaim his captaincy because the Delhi Capitals (DC) decided to keep Rishabh Pant as their captain. Shreyas Iyer, who is still young but has a lot of potential and has three years of IPL captaincy experience, will be a hot commodity in the auction. Given what he brings to the table, his name has a good chance of igniting a bidding war among franchises.
Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel is a seasoned campaigner in the IPL, having played for nearly ten years in the league. However, he had a particularly memorable season in 2021, when he bowled exceptionally well. He is expected to be one of the most expensive buys in the auction this year and many teams will be interested in him.
Pat Cummins

During the IPL 2022 retentions, Pat Cummins was released by the Kolkata Knight Riders. In IPL 2021, he took 9 wickets at an average of 26.33 and an economy rate of 8.83 in seven matches. With his outstanding bowling performance in recent years, he was recently selected as Australia’s Test captain. Pat Cummins could be the most valuable player in the IPL 2022 auction.
