For the next edition of the Indian Premier League, the mega auctions for PL 2022 will revamp the structure of all franchise teams. Because the IPL Governing Council allows each franchise to keep a maximum of four players, most franchises took advantage of this provision to keep their top players for longer. One of the two new franchises in the Indian Premier League is the Lucknow Supergiants.
RPSG Group paid a total of 7,090 crores for the franchise. KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi are the three draught pick for Lucknow. KL Rahul will captain the team. For Lucknow, KL will open the batting. Marcus Stoinis is a capable middle-order batsman who can also bowl.
- Ishan Kishan
In the last few years, the explosive young wicket-keeper batsman has grown in stature. In IPL 2020, Kishan was incredible for Mumbai Indians, scoring 516 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of over 145 and a brilliant average of over 57. He was one of the leading candidates to be retained by the Mumbai Indians ahead of the mega auction, but he was let go in the end, with Suryakumar Yadav being retained by the franchise. Lucknow Supergiants will be among the teams interested in Kishan.
- Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has won the purple cap twice in a row after making his debut for RCB and later playing for the PWI and SRH (2016 & 2017). He was incredible until he was injured, causing him to make infrequent appearances for the Indian team. He will almost certainly be selected in the auction, but a base price of 2 crores is far too high, especially given his recent form.
- Shivam Mavi
Shivam Mavi is another player who the Lucknow Supergiants could select. In the previous season, the right-arm pacer shone for Kolkata Knight Riders. He appeared in nine games for the team, taking 11 wickets at a strike rate of 21.18. He also bowled at a respectable 7.24 economy rate. Mavi also stood out with a four-wicket haul in a single game.
- Priyam Garg
Priyam Garg is another player who the Lucknow franchise might be interested in. Indeed, it is a foregone conclusion that the new franchise must acquire him at all costs. Apart from being a good batsman, Garg has the makings of a future captain. He would receive a lot of support from the local fans because he is from UP, so his inclusion could be beneficial to the franchise.
- Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan is a stalwart of the Indian Premier League. Shikhar Dhawan will be on many franchises’ wish lists heading into the IPL 2022 auction. The southpaw has been in the best batting form in the last three years, scoring runs and helping his team win games. Dhawan should be a top priority for the Lucknow Supergiants.
