International duty is calling again! Almost all the teams have now begun their national expeditions. India hosted South Africa for a T20 series recently, and will now be going to Ireland for a two-match T20 series. It is a team of the youngsters, as the big fish including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, etc have been rested for this series. Hardik Pandya will be leading the men in blue, and the Indian players and their performances will be carefully surveyed by the selectors who are all set to make a new team. There are certain players though, who will be watched very carefully in the upcoming series :
1) Hardik Pandya –
The top name, of course, is of the captain himself. The all-rounder has shown an amazing display of captaincy as well as an all-around form during the IPL, where his team, the debutant Gujarat Titans took home the trophy in their very first series. Pandya’s captaincy was praised by a lot of old Indian players as well as current team members, as he led from the front. He will be a player to watch.
2) Suryakumar Yadav –
Suryakumar Yadav, the young Mumbai Indians sensation, is another player to look out for in this series. Despite not having a very successful IPL season this year, he has been called back for national duty. The youngster has very shown grit and has a record of consistent performances with the bat, in spite of his current rough patch. Being Pandya’s old teammate while the latter played for the Mumbai gang, he is sure to get a good bond with the captain.
3) Sanju Samson –
Samson has always been a force to reckon with. The young captain of Rajasthan Royals, his team reached the IPL finals in 2022 for the first time since the inaugural season. Even though Samson didn’t have a very good season, his captaincy was compared to the likes of MS Dhoni and Steve Smith. His hard-hitting abilities make him a member on the list of Indian players to watch out for.
4) Rahul Tripathi –
Another youngster on the list, Rahul Tripathi, after two successful seasons of a brilliant batting display, has finally received a well-earned call from the Indian team selectors. The SRH batsman would be looking forward to making the most use of this opportunity and cementing his position in the Indian team.
5) Bhuvaneshwar Kumar –
The backbone of the Indian bowling attack, and the only senior bowler accompanying the Indian contingent, there will be a lot on Bhuvaneshwar’s plate. The Indian players and fans are counting on him to balance the bowling attack, which makes him one of the players to keep an eye on.
