Several female athletes from different sports have married contemporary cricketers. Cricket, like any other sport, has witnessed marriages between sportsmen from diverse disciplines. We’ve all heard stories of individuals meeting together over their favorite sports to form new friendships and partnerships.
Women athletes, like men, have shone brighter and brighter in their various disciplines in the past. They have won several awards and prizes throughout the world and have established themselves as role models for future generations.
1.Shoaib Malik- Sania Mirza
Sania Mirza’s marriage to Pakistan cricketer and former captain Shoaib Malik, which commenced in April 2010, is perhaps the most well-known cricketer-sportswoman union. In late 2009, Sania and Shoaib began dating. Because of the hostile India-Pakistan ties, the couple faced some harsh and unjust criticism in their early days. The couple, who are now parents to a young boy, wedded under tumultuous circumstances, with Sania breaking off an engagement with a childhood friend and Malik divorcing a lady with whom he had previously been married. While Shoaib has remained an evergreen cog in Pakistan’s middle order, his wife Sania has established herself as one of India’s greatest tennis players. The St. Mary’s alumna has won 14 medals (6 golds) in major international competitions since her professional debut in 2003. Her greatest achievement was winning the Hyderabad Open in the singles category in 2005.
2.Dinesh Karthik- Dipika Pallikal Karthik
Dipika, who began playing professional squash at the age of fifteen, has always been a strong advocate for women’s rights and is a fantastic ambassador for women’s empowerment in our nation. Pallikal, who originates from Chennai and has won numerous squash championships, has also helped India win gold, silver, and bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games, as well as a silver and a number of bronze medals at the Asian Games. DK and DP’s shared sporting and Tamilian origins were important factors in their friendship. They began dating in early 2013, got engaged in November of that year, and married in August of that year in Hindu and Christian wedding rituals.
3.Shikhar Dhawan- Ayesha Mukherjee
Shikhar and Ayesha’s story is reminiscent of Bollywood love stories since the two met on Facebook through a common acquaintance, Harbhajan Singh. Ayesha’s marriage was also questioned by Dhawan’s family because she is ten years older than the Delhi guy and had two children from a prior marriage. Ayesha Mukherjee is a multifaceted personality who was born in India to a Bengali father and a British mother and educated and married in Australia. The diversity doesn’t stop there: after divorcing her first husband, the professionally skilled kickboxer married Shikhar Dhawan.
4.Ishant Sharma- Pratima Singh
Ishant met his future wife at the 2011 Delhi IGMA Basketball League, where he was a special guest. Pratima, who was injured at the time, was the match’s top scorer, attracting the attention of the tall Indian pacer, who had been brought to the event by one of Pratima’s sisters, who also happened to be his buddy. When Pratima’s sister introduced her to Ishant, she was filling in as a scorer. They began dating in 2015 and married in December of the following year after the latter took some time to declare his thoughts. She has competed for India in three Asian Basketball Championships (2006, 07, and 09) as well as the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou.
5.David Warner- Candice Warner
Candice used to compete in the Ironman series, an Australian water-sports-centered surfing event, before marrying her husband in 2015. She made her professional debut at the age of 14 and won the New South Wales championship two years later. In 2008, this helped her qualify for the Kellogg’s Nutri-grain Ironwoman competition. Candice is a retired life-saver in addition to her professional water-sports career. She’s also appeared in a number of TV series, including It Takes Two, Hell’s Kitchen, Australian Story, and SAS: Who Dares to Win?
