The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction, which took place on February 12 and 13 at the Hotel ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru, is now complete.
The ten Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 franchises – Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings, and Delhi Capitals – were locked in a bidding war to secure the services of their favorite players over the course of the two-day event.
The auction, however, was not kind to some of the veteran cricketers, who remained unsold despite having a wealth of experience.

Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch’s base price in the IPL 2022 mega auction was INR 1.5 crore, but he did not find a team at that price. He didn’t have the best of times during the T20 World Cup 2021. He is considered one of the best hitters in T20 cricket but sadly he went unsold at the mega auction.

Suresh Raina

At the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Suresh Raina was not selected by any franchise. In the first round, he went unsold, and in the acceleration round, he received no interest from CSK or any other team. As a result, this will be the first season in which Raina does not play for CSK. He did not play in the 2020 season due to his own inability. He might not even be able to play in the IPL.

Shakib Al Hasan

Shakib Al Hasan went unsold in the first round of the IPL 2022 auction. There was no interest from any team in acquiring the Bangladeshi all-rounder. Shakib is one of the best all-rounders in international cricket at the moment. On a regular basis, he is a member of the Bangladesh national team.

Dawid Malan

Dawid Malan did not have many opportunities in the IPL last year. He was expected to be a key player for the Punjab Kings last season, but he only played a few games. Malan was put up for auction with a starting price of Rs 1.5 crore but went unsold. Everyone knows about his hitting abilities and it is surprising that Malan went unsold.

Martin Guptill

During the accelerated portion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction on Sunday, New Zealand batter Martin Guptill went unsold. Last year, Guptill, who was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2020 auction, had no takers. Despite his big-hitting ability, franchises were wary of taking a chance on the aging Kiwi superstar.
