On Tuesday, June 21, the eighth International Yoga Day is being celebrated with zeal across the country. Several members of the Indian cricket team took to social media to send out greetings to their fans and followers by posting pictures and videos of themselves doing yoga. Sachin Tendulkar, the cricket legend, also celebrated International Yoga Day by tweeting a photo of himself doing yoga.

Sachin Tendulkar celebrates International Yoga Day

The United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. Yoga, which was once associated only with an ascetic lifestyle, has since earned a prestigious place in the world. Every year, billions of people across the globe roll out their yoga mats to celebrate International Yoga Day.
Around 25 crore people are expected to participate in International Yoga Day around the world this year, doing yoga in unison in the name of better health and wellness for all. Yoga has become popular among athletes, and many well-known athletes practice yoga on a daily basis.
Yoga helps to bring us closer to nature and the people around us. This is the reason why Yoga has become so important in various sports and a lot of athletes across different sports practice yoga daily.
Cheteshwar Pujara, Team India’s veteran batter, posted a message on Twitter about the importance of yoga. He stated that practicing yoga promotes a healthy body as well as a calm mind.
